The Snow Just Keeps Falling at Loveland!
With March just a week away it looks as if El Nino is finally starting to pull through with the snow. We received nearly a foot of snow in the last week and with more in the forecast, it is going to be a great weekend at Loveland. On average March is our snowiest month of the season and after such a slow early season we are all looking forward to what could be an epic spring! There are also a ton of great events taking place this spring, so be sure to check out our Online Event Calendar.
Get Ready to Race at Loveland's Family Race Day
Loveland is excited to host a Family Race Day on March 6th, 2010. Come out and challenge your friends and family to a fast and fun race at no cost. All ages, abilities and disciplines are invited to come and test your skills on a slalom style racecourse, which will be set up on Firecut off Chair 2. Medals will be awarded to the fastest racers and bragging will be sure to ensue. Register the morning of at the base area of the Basin. A signed waiver and valid lift ticket are required, click here for more info.

Late Season Terrain Park Competitions Announced
Spring isn't far off and that means time for Loveland's late season terrain park competitions. Join us in the Love Park on Tempest on March 20th and May 1st as we continue the Vert Alert Series with the Tall Tees and Tacos Slopestyle Competition presented by Wahoo's Fish Tacos. All ages and abilities are eligible to compete for the chance to win some of the $10,000 in prizes. A signed waiver, valid lift ticket and competition entry fee will be required. More details to be announced soon!

Family Race Day - Saturday, March 6th
Join us for a fun day of racing for all ages, abilities and disciplines at no cost. Sign-up the morning of at the Base Area of the Basin and take a timed run on the slalom style course which will be set up on Firecut off Chair 2. Snow, Snow, Snow!
Over a foot of fresh snow has fallen at Loveland this week and the mountain is offering the best conditions of the season...so far! Loveland has received measurable snow each of the last seven days and there is a storm on the horizon that could blanket Loveland with up to another foot of snow this weekend. Check out our forecast to figure out when you can get up to Loveland for some fresh powder this weekend.


Couples Celebrate Valentine's Day in Style at Loveland
This past Sunday, Valentine's Day, nearly 70 couples either got married or renewed their vows high atop the Continental Divide here at Loveland Ski Area. Not only did they participate in one of America's most unique events, but they were also treated with some of the best conditions of the season. Our resident photographer took almost 400 pictures of the event and posted some of the best on Shots of the Week while the rest can be found online at Loveland's Photo Album.

The Great Colorado Hose Relay Returns to Loveland
Loveland is excited to once again host The Great Colorado Hose Relay this February 27th. The Hose Relay is a slalom style race in which teams of 5 navigate the gates in fireman's coats and helmets, the whole while holding on to a 50 foot fire hose. This challenging event not only riles up the competitive nature of these teams, but also raises important funds for the St. Anthony's Children's Hospital Burn Clinic. Loveland Celebrates the Winter Olympics
Everyone here at Loveland is excited about the winter Olympics and not just because we love winter sports, but because some of the top competitors spent the early season training and competing here at Loveland Ski Area. Congratulations to Lindsey Vonn for her gold in the downhill and also to Julia Mancuso who collected her second silver of the 2010 games earlier today. She is now the most decorated female skier in Olympic history.

And let's not forget about Hannah Kearney, Shaun White and Shani Davis who all won gold in 2010. USA!

Love is in the Air, and on the Snow!
This Valentine's Day Loveland's ever famous Mountaintop Matrimony returns for it's 19th season. In what is now a Loveland tradition couples get married or renew their vows in a mass wedding ceremony high atop the continental divide, elevation 12,050 ft. At the conclusion of the ceremony everyone skis to the base for a casual after party with live music, spirits, wedding cake and even a best dressed contest. Whether you looking to get hitched or just up to make some turns, this is a special event not to be missed!

Couples who preregister for Loveland's 19th Annual Mountaintop Matrimony are eligible for buy-one get-one lift tickets the day of the event. But hurry, the preregistration deadline is tomorrow, February 12th. You may still register at no cost the morning of the event between 8:30am and 10:30am in the Rathskeller.

Slowly but Surely, New Snow Opens More Terrain
Although we haven't had any major snowstorms recently in these parts of Colorado, the consistent small snowfalls have really been adding up. Not only are the conditions great, but we've been able to open more terrain on The Ridge as well. Check out some of the photos taken earlier this week on The Ridge and Porcupine Saddle off Chair 9.

Jeremy Jones Visits Loveland Ski Area!
Whether it's the great snow, our wide open terrain, or just the hassle free nature of our area, pro skiers and riders love Loveland! Recently we had pro snowboarder Jeremy Jones visit us to take some runs and test some of his new boards; Jones Boards. There's a chance you may have seen Jeremy here at Loveland before, although you 're more likely to have seen him in the latest ski movies riding some of the biggest, gnarliest lines in Alaska and other remote destinations around the world.

Not only do we have pro snowboarders tearing it up here, but recent Powder Award's Best Skier winner Seth Morrison also frequents Loveland when he's not hucking flips off 100 foot cliffs in terrain most of us wouldn't even dream of skiing. If pros like these enjoy Loveland, it's no wonder we have so many loyal Lovelanders! And with more snow in the forecast you'll be feeling like a pro next time your up.

Local Fraternities Ski for a Good Cause
Loveland is excited to host the men of Beta Theta Pi from the Colorado School of Mines this Saturday, February 6th for their annual Ski-a-Thon philanthropy event. Join us for a day of silent auctions, raffles, food and of course great skiing! Packages including lift ticket, lunch, raffle ticket and t-shirt will be available for only $45.
